Welcome to Year One
Expectations
- Our door opening times are 8.25am – 8.35am in the morning and our first lesson begins at 8.40am so please be on time.
- Our doors open at 3pm at the end of the day.
- It is essential that your child’s uniform is clearly labelled with their full name.
- Your child is expected to read three times a week to support their development. This does not need to be the whole book each night. Please ensure that your child’s reading diary is signed and sent to school every Monday. Books will be changed and sent home each Tuesday.
- Spellings will be sent home weekly on a Tuesday ready to be tested the following Friday.
- PE will be on a Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure that your child comes to school in their full PE kit as per the school’s uniform policy. This includes a white T-shirt, black shorts and black pumps. Please make sure earrings are removed on these days.
- Attendance is expected to be at least 97%. This is equivalent to having just five days off throughout the academic year.
- If you have any questions, please speak to any member of the Year 1 team on the door before or after school, or you can contact us on Class Dojo.
